“I’m a fan of true love, dearie…” ~ ABC’s Once Upon a Time

I’m a year late to this party, but now that the first season is available on DVD I was finally able to watch it. I wasn’t sure what to expect, even though it’s packaged to be something I should love instantly, it took me a few episodes to keep turning the pages of this book. Fairy tales are my fictional true love. They fuel most of my imaginings and stories. In my personal opinion they have more truth in them than most things that are considered to be “real life.” Their truth is deep like a parable and not lingering on the surface easy to see for those of little faith.

I'm going to try a something a little different this time. I'm going to just talk (in my PJs with my nightly cup of tea) in this Vlog below! Make sure you put it at the best quality since my camera already sucks haha. And below that I am going to share some of my favorite images from the show. :-)

  1. Okay. I'm watching this show. Your reveal about Mr. Gold got me. How can I NOT love that?! Haha! Can I borrow the first season from you? We can chat about it later.

Anyway, you and I are on the same wavelength, per usual, so I think this is an awesome post. All of what you were saying about fairytales is so true. What I like to say is that fairytales reveal the Reality (with a capital "r") behind the reality. Faiytales can tap into spiritual realities very easily and make them viable and relatable. They can reveal the beauties within and touch your heart. Not that other styles of storytelling are any less, but fairytales are special in that they are free of the boundaries of realism, but can reach the heart of what life is truly all about. I love them so much! ;)

I'm glad this show has turned out well and that you are so excited about it. Like you, you would think it would be something I would automatically love, but from the things I've seen or heard (which wasn't much) didn't really impress me or get me excited. However, we should all know, never trust advertisement! Haha. So yay!

Btw, I think you talk very well and don't say "um" too much. You talk very concisely and are very articulate. You sound so professional...or as we would say, legit. Haha. Good blog post, cousin!

    P.S. These pictures are gorgeous!
